Greetings, dear reader!

My name is A.K. Vande Vorde, author of the upcoming dark academia psychological thriller, The Boston Revolutionary Art and Teacup Society.

On June 18, 2025, I received the most exciting email of my life. My novel was accepted for publication! It was a dream come true, and I still can’t believe it’s actually happening.

What is the Book About?

Camilla Farrow (age 23) is the sole witness of two men dressed in Victorian costumes crawling down a manhole in an empty Boston alleyway. She is pulled into the world of a secret art society beneath the cobblestones of Historic Downtown Boston.

She finds a home, friendship, and potential romance with the Society’s colorful and eccentric members. But amidst the theatre, midnight tea parties, and witty banter lies something more sinister. The Society’s leader, Atticus, offers to mentor Camilla so that she may reach artistic brilliance…at the cost of her morals, reality, and human lives—including, possibly, her own. And Camilla is so entranced that she may just accept.

The Boston Revolutionary Art and Teacup Society will be released on June 22, 2027.

Fun Facts About Me

  1. I wrote my first full-length novel at age 13. It was terrible and will never see the light of day.

  2. I’ve been writing stories ever since I learned to write my ABCs. Many of my earliest stories were about talking cats that spoke like Junie B. Jones.

  3. I’m not just a writer; I’m also an editor. I’ve never been on the author side of an author-editor relationship before, so I’m looking forward to that!

  4. I have a rare form of synesthesia where I can taste names. For example, my name (Andrea) tastes like cherry licorice.

  5. I can recite 100 digits of pi. And yes, people are annoyed.

Updates

In these blog posts, I would like to share updates about the publishing process or the book in general.

  1. Right now in the publishing process, my publisher has assigned me to reach out to agents of established authors and request that their authors read my manuscript and write a blurb (or endorsement) to include on the cover. One of the authors who agreed is very big in the dark academia genre, and I am so excited for it. I may reveal who it is in a future blog post.

  2. Did you know I have a Pinterest board dedicated to The Boston Revolutionary Art and Teacup Society? Want to pick my brain on how I imagined the Fortress—the secret underground hideout where the Boston Rats live? Want to see how I imagined their clothes or their physical appearance? Look no further. Go to Pinterest right now and give me a follow! :)

  3. In case you haven’t heard yet, The Boston Revolutionary Art and Teacup Society is now on Goodreads. Feel free to add it to your “Want to Read” list today!

  4. If you haven’t followed me on other platforms yet, I’m currently available on Facebook and Instagram. If you’re on either of these platforms, feel free to give me a follow.

  5. And, of course, if you want to share any of my social media pages or posts with your friends, please do! Authors always feel as if we’re shouting into the void, so new readers, viewers, and subscribers via word of mouth are always appreciated!

Conclusion

Thanks for reading! I will now leave you with the closing statement of the Boston R.A.T.S. themselves:

May your nights stay young, may your tea stay hot, and may the fountain of inspiration never run dry.

Tirra Lirra,

A.K. Vande Vorde
